The Hershey Company, commonly known as Hershey’s, is a century-old brand, as we all know! It has grown manifold over the years – from being a company that only offered a (single item) chocolate to being a comprehensive snacking and chocolate brand. The company was founded by Milton S. Hershey in the year 1894; now, after 120 years since its inception, Hershey’s global reach has reached up to over 60 countries worldwide.
Not many people know that Hershey’s is the largest producer of chocolates in North America. The company aims to provide goodness and happiness through their chocolates and snacks. Their tagline says ‘Goodness of Hershey’s Happiness’. Hershey’s also markets its Milkshakes, Syrups, Spreads and Cocoa Powder in India.
The last week I went for grocery shopping, I was quite puzzled as to what should be the next product review be all about. It was just then, that I crossed a huge refrigerator kept in the side in the Mega Mart. Spotting Hershey’s in one of its rows, I thought to give it a try. The Hershey’s had entered the Indian market by launching two of its flavours – Chocolate & Cookie & Crème. I chose the latter one – the Chocolate one. Hershey’s latest offering is retailed in INR 35.00 in the Indian market. Also, I would like to add that the Milkshake is not that easily available at all grocery stores, but can be easily found at all leading Mega Marts; or even at Online stores.
Taste:
Seeing their ad campaign, I was really hopeful of its nutritional benefits it boasts of. The company claims to have 30 percent more Calcium than the usual milk; and has 5 essential vitamins in it. Talking about their taste, the Cookie ‘n’ Crème variant tasted a lot like the Cookie and Crème Ice Cream’ Ice Cream’; while, the Hershey’s milkshake tastes all milky and flavours of a cookie as well, at the same time.
The Chocolate Milkshake was super chocolaty. Both the Hershey’s flavours tasted simply delicious. The only problem with the Milkshake was that it has a weird after-taste to both the milkshakes. The after-taste made it difficult to drink the Milkshake entirely, as it spoiled the celebrations together.
Packaging:
It comes in a tetra-pack packaging, just like other usual drinks. It also comes with a straw and its opening is a sealed pack, with aluminium foil. You can pierce that opening with the pointy-end of your straw and enjoy your cold Milkshake.
Is Hershey’s Cookie & Crème Milkshake Value for Money:
Hershey’s serves 200ML for Rs. 35.00! I would really avoid suggesting people try their hands on it. Personally, I felt that since you are spending such an amount on a Milkshake, you could better off be with a rich-packaged chocolaty Milkshake.
Food KRITIK Rating:
If you want to try Milkshakes of Hershey’s brands or you simply want to sip on to some rich Milkshake, you can definitely give it a try. Nonetheless, you still have a lot of options. I would suggest you give other (similar) drinks a shot; this opinion of mine is due to its weird after-taste in the advertisement.
