Tricolour Jello Shots Recipe: Republic Day 2020 is around the corner and what better it could be than celebrating it with some tricolour recipes. Republic Day Special Dish: Tri-Colour Jello Shots

It is an easy-to-prepare dish with no fancy ingredients. You can make it in no time and the Jello Shots can be used as a welcome appetizer as well as dessert. Do try this simple-yet-amazing tricolour Jello Shots recipe on this Republic Day and tell me how it turned out.

  • Serves: 10-15 shot glasses

Ingredients:

  1. Jelly Setter – 10 grams
  2. Water – 500 ml + 60 ml
  3. Sugar – 6 teaspoons (as per taste)
  4. Orange Syrup – 4 teaspoons (as per taste)
  5. Paan Syrup – 4 teaspoons (as per taste)
  6. Vanilla Ice Cream – 1 Scoop
  7. Orange Food Colour – 2-3 drops (Optional)
  8. Green Food Colour – 2-3 drops (Optional)

Republic Day Special: Tri-Colour Jello Shots Recipe

Method:

For Green Jelly

  1. Heat 170 ml of water till it boils.
  2. In a bowl, add 20 ml of water, 3.3 grams of Jelly Setting Powder, 4 teaspoons of Paan Syrup, 2 teaspoons of Sugar and Green Food Colour. Mix them well.
  3. Add this mixture to the boiled water and mix it well. Let it cool down a bit and pour 2-3 teaspoons of the mixture into the shot glasses for it to get set.
  4. Keep the glasses in the fridge for 45 minutes.

For White Jelly

  1. Heat 170 ml of water till it boils.
  2. In a bowl add 20 ml of water, 3.3 grams of Jelly Setting Powder, and 2 teaspoons of Sugar. Mix them well.
  3. Add this mixture to the boiled water and mix it well.
  4. Add 1 scoop of Vanilla Ice Cream to the mixture and give it a nice stir till the time there are no lumps in the liquid.
  5. Pour 2-3 teaspoons of the mixture into the shot glasses over the settled green jelly to let it set.
  6. Keep the glasses in the fridge for 45 minutes.

For Orange Jelly

  1. Heat 170 ml of water till it boils.
  2. In a bowl add 20 ml of water, 3.3 grams of Jelly Setting Powder, 4 teaspoons of Orange Syrup, 2 teaspoons of Sugar, and Orange Food Colour. Mix them well.
  3. Add this mixture to the boiled water and mix it well.
  4. Let it cool down a bit and pour 2-3 teaspoons of the mixture into the shot glasses over the settled white jelly, to let it set.
  5. Keep the glasses in the fridge for 45 minutes.
  6. Take the jelly shots out of the fridge after 45 minutes
  7. Your Tri-Colour Jello Shots are ready to serve.

Chef’s Tip:

  1. I used the WeikField Jelly Premix as Jelly Setting Powder.

  3. Food Colours are totally optional. They have been added to give the dish a proper imitation of the Indian tricolour flag. You can skip them if you want and still prepare the recipe.
